Welcome
Berggasthaus Höchst stands at just under 1,600 metres, between Frutigen and Adelboden. You'll find hearty cooking, a few comfortable rooms and a big terrace looking out at the mountains.
The road is open all year. There are 50 free parking spaces in front of the house, and in winter the ski bus stops right at the door.
Restaurant
The menu has Bernese classics and our cheese specialities: Käseschnitte and fondue, both made with alpine cheese from the region. You eat on the panorama terrace, in the winter garden, or inside.
50 seats in the restaurant, 40 in the hall. On sunny weekends it is worth reserving.

Staying
Six hotel rooms, including a family room with two bedrooms that sleeps up to five. On top of that, group lodging for up to a hundred guests – for school classes, clubs or company outings. The breakfast buffet and Wi-Fi come with every stay.

Experience
In summer the trails lead to Brandsee, where you can swim in the turquoise water and grill on the shore, and on across the alpine meadows to Elsigsee.
In winter it is 50 metres to the ski lift and 30 kilometres of piste. Ski rental and tickets are right next door.

About 10 km from Frutigen or Adelboden. Open all year, 50 free parking spaces outside.
To Frutigen. In winter the ski bus runs to the door; in summer a minibus brings groups up.
Access right up to the house. There is room for minibuses and coaches.

Drive to Frutigen, then follow the main road through Frutigen towards Adelboden.
In Steg/Achseten, after the second bridge, turn left towards «Elsigbach».
Up the panorama road, past Elsigbach.
Continue to Berggasthaus Höchst at 1,600 m, right by the ski lift.
Please note: Satnavs often send you left onto the old, narrow road just after Frutigen. That is the wrong way. Stay on the main road towards Adelboden as far as Steg/Achseten.

For overnight guests in the hotel and the group lodging, yes. External guests pay CHF 18.–, children aged 4 to 12 pay CHF 1.– per year of age. Buffet Wednesday to Sunday, 08:00–11:00, booked the day before.
Check-in is from 15:00 to 18:00, and check-out is by 11:00. Please let us know your expected arrival time in advance so someone is there for you. Other times are possible by arrangement.
Yes. There is free broadband WiFi throughout the house – fast enough to work and stream. Mobile phone reception at 1,600 metres is reliable too.
